With Inquieto geometrico Studio Guastalla proposes the works of a group of artists – Aricò, Carrino, Colombo, Dadamaino, Nigro, Spagnulo, Varisco – who look to the Constructivism and Spatialism of Fontana, master of an entire generation, to overcome the barriers between painting, set design, sculpture and architecture. Works that fit into the environment and become environment themselves, spaces that activate perceptions and behaviour, solid structures, industrial materials, design drawings, modular geometries, vibrations of light on the surface. Works that go beyond the idea of the uniqueness and preciousness of the work, to become participatory works of interaction and collaboration.

Artists who moved mainly on the Milanese scene between the 1960s and 1970s, years of great artistic vitality in a metropolitan urban dimension, in the only Italian city with an international outlook, a metropolis in the making, a stage of violence and an incubator of creativity and social commitment at the same time.

In a productive city, in which activities linked to industry, commerce, and communication thrive, in constant expansion and urban transformation, painting and sculpture intertwine with architecture, design, and advertising graphics. An “open space” for experimentation, for works that are themselves “open spaces”, because geometry is not a fixed, constrictive rule, but is open to discard, to movement, to restlessness.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Bruno Grossetti with works from the historical collection of Salone Annunciata, Studio Carlo Grossetti, Grossetti Arte Contemporanea, historic Milanese galleries that have promoted the work of these artists since the 1960s with private and public exhibitions that have been milestones in their career.
